THE HON ROBERT McCLELLAND MP, Attorney-General of Australia
Robert McClelland is the Attorney-General and the Member for Barton, an electorate based in the St George area of Sydney.

Robert was elected to Parliament in 1996. Before becoming Attorney-General he served on several parliamentary committees, including as Deputy Chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, the Joint Standing Committee on Treaties and the Joint Select Committee on the Republic Referendum.

Before entering Parliament, Robert practised as a lawyer for 14 years, specialising in industrial and sports law.

Robert was born on Australia Day in 1958. His interests include Australian history, surfing and rugby league.


 
BOB CORRELL, Deputy Secretary, Department of Immigration and Citizenship
Bob Correll is Deputy Secretary for the Borders, Detention and Technology Group. He has over 20 years’ experience in policy, programme and operations management in the employment, social welfare and immigration areas of government administration and has a strong background in the use of information technology to support and enable improved business operations.

He is currently responsible for compliance detention services; border security; and information technology within the Department including the four year $500m plus Systems for People business transformation program.


 
MICK KEELTY APM, Commissioner, Australian Federal Police
Appointed Commissioner in March 2001, Mick Keelty is a career police officer with more than 30 years’ experience at local, national and international levels. Since his appointment, Commissioner Keelty has led the expansion and transformation of the AFP to take on major new responsibilities in the areas of counter terrorism, protective security, airport security, peacekeeping and capacity building in the region.

Commissioner Keelty is the Chair of the Board of the Australian Crime Commission, he co-chairs (with Indonesia) the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering, and is a member of the Business Government Advisory Group on National Security. He is also Patron of the Australian Section of the International Police Association.

 
PAUL O’SULLIVAN, Director-General, Australian Security Intelligence Organisation
Prior to taking up his current position as Director-General of Security at the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) in July 2005, Paul O’Sullivan was Senior Adviser (International) to the Prime Minister from January 2004. Previously he served as Deputy Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2003-2004), Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, to Switzerland and to Liechtenstein (1999-2003) and Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at Australia’s largest overseas mission in Washington (1996-1998).

 
HOWARD STOFFER, Head of Administration and Information, Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate, UNITED NATIONS
Mr. Howard Stoffer has been Director for Administration and Information of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate since July 2005. He previously served as the Minister-Counselor in the Management and Reform Section of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations from 2001-2005. He was also Counselor for Political Affairs of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations from 1997-2001.

Other assignments in the U.S. Foreign Service include: Tel Aviv (1994-1997) where he was a member of the peace process team, Moscow (1991-1993) during the fall of the Soviet Union, the Soviet and China desks in the State Department during the mid to late 1980’s, and the Sinai peacekeeping mission -- the Multinational Force and Observers – from 1987 to 1988. In the early 1980’s, Mr. Stoffer was an advisor to the U.S. Delegation to the Strategic Arms Talks in Geneva and later the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Negotiations in Geneva. He also served as a member of the U.S. Delegation to the Conference on Disarmament in Europe. His first assignment was in Oslo, Norway, from 1981-1982.

Mr. Stoffer earned a BA from Columbia College in 1971, an MA and Certificate from the Russian Institute of Columbia University’s School of International Affairs in 1974, and a PhD from Columbia University’s Graduate Faculties in Political Science in 1980. He was an adjunct professor during the 1970’s at Columbia, Baruch College and the New School for Social Research and is the author of a number of articles and monographs on arms control and disarmament.

Mr. Stoffer is married to Jane Rosenberg, an attorney, and they have one daughter, Hannah Rose-Jing.

 
GARY P. LaGRANGE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Port of New Orleans
Gary LaGrange took leadership of the Port of New Orleans in September 2001. A native of South Louisiana, Mr LaGrange came to New Orleans after serving as Executive Director of the Mississippi State Port Authority at Gulfport.

Mr LaGrange worked tenaciously to bring the Port of New Orleans back into operation after the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history. His commitment to the maritime industry is reflected in the numerous leadership positions he has held at state, regional and national levels. He recently served as Chairman of the American Association of Port Authorities, an alliance of 350 ports in the Western Hemisphere. He also serves on the boards of the Gulf Ports Association of the Americas and is past Chairman and past President of the Gulf Intracoastal Canal Association. He is Chairman of the National Waterways Conference and serves on the Board of the Waterways Council.

He recently earned the esteemed Professional Port Manager Certification (PPM) from the American Association of Port Authorities.
